Tamil Nadu shocker: 1 arrested after 17-year-old girl found dead near home

TUTICORIN: One was arrested in the incident in which a 17-year-old girl from a Tuticorin village was found murdered in a bush near her home on Wednesday (March 11) after going missing on Tuesday (March 10) evening.A senior police official confirmed to TOI that one person involved in the incident was arrested and identified as Dharmamuneeswaran alias Maveeran of Sayalkudi in Ramanathapuram district.It is recalled that a 17-year-old girl from a village in Tuticorin was found dead in a bush on Wednesday afternoon, just 300 metres from her home. She went missing on Tuesday evening after leaving to answer nature’s call.Following a missing person report from her parents, police discovered her body with strangulation injuries to the neck.A case was registered with Kulathur Police, and they have initiated the investigation.
